Pistyll Rhaeadr is a hidden gem in the UK, located in the Welsh countryside and often stumbled upon unexpectedly while passing through.
The site feels extremely undeveloped in the best way possible—even the official website looks very basic. Parking costs around £5, and entry to the waterfall itself is free. If you need to use the toilet, there is a small charge of 40p per person. There are no bins in the area, so visitors are expected to take all rubbish back with them.
When we arrived, we noticed many local hikers, often well-equipped with proper gear. The waterfall is right near the entrance, but if you continue deeper into the valley, there are hiking routes that can extend up to 7 miles.
