The best waterfalls in Åre

Finally got to Tännforsen. It's Sweden's largest waterfall, sitting near Åre in Jämtland, and it had been on my list for a while.

The drop is around 37 metres, with a width of about 60 metres, and in spring, when the snow up in the mountains is melting, the volume of water coming over the edge is something else. It's less about height and more about sheer force at that time of year.

What surprised me is that it's not just a spring or summer sight. In winter, the cold turns the spray and the flow into ice, and the waterfall freezes into these huge, dramatic ice formations. It's a completely different waterfall depending on when you show up.
