The best waterfalls in Samaná

To reach El Limón Waterfall, you can either hike 2.5 km along a steep mountain trail or ride a horse through tropical vegetation, passing by wild plants and coffee and cacao trees along the way. Once you arrive at the 40-metre waterfall, you can even swim in the pool below.

Los Haitises National Park is a must-visit for adventure and ecology lovers. It features the largest mangrove wetland in the Caribbean. You can take a boat to explore caves and spot endangered bird species such as the Ridgway’s hawk and frigatebirds. The park was also used as a filming location for *Jurassic Park*.
