**Baatara Gorge Waterfall (Batara Sinkhole Waterfall)** Located in northern Lebanon in Tannourine, Baatara Gorge Waterfall is a truly unique natural formation. Unlike typical waterfalls that drop along a cliff edge, this one plunges directly into a massive sinkhole-like cave and passes through three natural limestone bridges stacked like suspended overpasses across the gorge. The cave is extremely deep and appears bottomless. There are no protective railings at the site, so standing near the cliff edge can feel quite unsettling. It almost feels like there should be Transformers or a hidden spaceship buried deep inside the gorge. We visited during the dry season, so the water flow was very light. We stayed there for nearly an hour without seeing anyone else.
