Cumberland Falls is famous as the 'Niagara of the South' and is one of only two places in the Western Hemisphere where a moonbow (lunar rainbow) can be regularly seen during clear full moon nights. The falls spans 125 feet wide and drops 68 feet, making it one of the largest waterfalls in the southeastern United States.

From the main parking area, follow the paved walkway toward the visitor center and overlook platform. The main viewing platform provides excellent frontal views of the 125-foot-wide falls. For additional perspectives, take the trail system that leads to upper and lower river views. During full moon nights, the moonbow viewing area is accessible from the main overlook.
