Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is huge, and it's free to visit. It has colorful cliffs, beaches, and waterfalls, so there's something for everyone. Miners Beach is my favorite beach. It faces Lake Superior, with forest behind it and colorful cliffs on both sides. The water is crystal clear, and the sand is quite fine. It was cloudy when we visited, so the photos didn't turn out as vibrant. On a sunny day, the colors would look amazing. Upper Overlook and Lower Overlook are viewing platforms where you can see the colorful cliffs and the lake. Miners Falls is a waterfall. After parking at the car park, you still need to walk about 10 minutes along a forest trail. There are plenty of visitors, so just follow the crowd and you won't get lost. Once you reach the main viewing platform, you can walk down the wooden stairs to a lower lookout. Next to the platform, there's also a small dirt path that leads down to the rocks below the waterfall. We saw lots of visitors climbing down there. The path is a bit slippery, so I recommend wearing hiking shoes with good grip. Standing on the rocks, you can touch the stream below the waterfall and feel the mist from the falling water. Several Americans were trying to stand on the rocks closest to the waterfall to take photos. Munising Falls has less water compared to Miners Falls, but it has a scenic trail that follows the rocky cliffside. Some of the rock formations reminded me of a mystical valley, making it a fun place for photos. Miners Falls is located near Miners Castle, and you can climb down to get closer to the waterfall. The entire walk takes you through the forest, and only at the end does the waterfall suddenly appear, cascading down the rock face. It's a very easy hike.

From the parking area, follow the well-marked trail through mixed hardwood forest. The path descends gradually before reaching a staircase of approximately 77 steps leading down to the viewing platform at the base of the falls. The viewing area offers close-up views of the 40-foot drop. Return via the same route, climbing back up the stairs to the parking lot.
