Minyon Falls Walking Track This is where you’ll see birds, mushrooms, cliffs, and forest. The real challenge starts here! Drive to Minyon Falls Picnic Area — that’s the trailhead. The full walk takes about 2–3 hours. The first 85% is pretty easy, but on the way in, we kept seeing people coming back covered in mud. Couldn’t help asking what happened — everyone just said, “worth it.” So with that mix of confusion and curiosity, we kept going and gradually reached the section near the waterfall. Huge boulders stacked and scattered everywhere — every step you take, you have to think carefully where to place your foot, where to hold with your hands. It’s tense and careful the whole way, but also really fun. Once you get past the rocks, you’ll reach the deep pool at the base of the waterfall. Quiet, misty, filled with the sound of rushing water. It honestly feels like some hidden world. Sitting on a giant rock, just listening to the water falling again and again, watching the moment it crashes and shatters at the bottom — time kind of stretches out. The people coming back weren’t lying — totally worth it. The winding mountain road up and down is also beautiful — looking out over the valley almost feels like you’re in Switzerland. Some sections are narrow though, so drive carefully.

For the lookout: From the car park, follow the short sealed path to the viewing platform overlooking the falls and gorge. For the base walk (Minyon Loop): Take the track descending 300+ steps through rainforest to the base of the falls, then loop back via a different route. The base track is steep, rugged, and requires good fitness.
