Montmorency Falls guide, perfect for a weekend trip We bought our tickets online in advance including daily access and a round trip cable car and arrived at 11am on Sunday with no queues at all After experiencing it ourselves we honestly feel this place is wilder and more connected to nature than Niagara Falls so here is a detailed guide you can save Ticket guide Buy tickets online in advance so you can scan and enter without waiting Daily access is CAD 11.70 for adults and free for kids under 17 Cable car tickets are separate we bought a family round trip for CAD 43 which is great value for four people Zipline requires a separate ticket adults CAD 31 kids CAD 23.25 and is highly recommended if you like something exciting Getting there It is about a 20 minute drive from Old Quebec City There is a large parking area just follow the signs Recommended route Take the cable car up to the top to save energy it takes about 10 minutes Walk along the boardwalk and cross the suspension bridge it can be very windy so hold onto your hat and phone the mist from the falls is very powerful and impressive From there you can choose to take the zipline back for a more exciting experience or walk down the 487 steps to enjoy different views along the way At the bottom viewing platform you can stand close to the falls and really feel the mist the experience is very immersive there are also smaller waterfalls nearby where you can get closer to the water To finish you can take the cable car back down or return to the parking area it is better to arrive early as parking can fill up quickly when we left the entrance was already blocked we parked at Parking P3 at the summit and it was free Seasonal note When we visited there was still snow so the stairs were closed we had to drive down to the lower parking area but it was too crowded so we gave up the same ticket works for both the top and bottom areas if you want to see both sides easily the cable car is the best option Tips Wear sneakers and bring a waterproof jacket as it gets very wet near the falls For families the cable car plus stairs route is the most balanced option In summer it is great for water play and in winter you can see frozen waterfalls so it is worth visiting all year round Final thoughts If you are visiting Quebec do not miss Montmorency Falls whether it is a day trip or a family outing it is flexible for all ages very photogenic and feels more raw and natural than Niagara Falls
