Waterfall height

The driving distance from the famous port town of Strahan in Tasmania to Russell Falls is about 3 hours and 45 minutes. After taking a Gordon River cruise in Strahan, which finished around 3 p.m., we decided to stay overnight at a homestay near Russell Falls so we could visit the waterfall early the next morning. We’re really glad we made that decision, because Russell Falls in the morning is incredibly peaceful and beautiful. There was not a single other visitor except us, and it felt like a hidden, mysterious world deep in the forest. Walking along the rainforest track, we were surrounded by tall ferns forming a dense canopy. Along the way, fallen giant trees covered in moss lay scattered across the forest floor. The vegetation is thick and untouched, something you don’t often see in regular forests anymore. The slow walk felt almost dreamlike, like moving through a misty, quiet world. The trail leads deeper into the forest, where the air is cool and humid, filled with the scent of rainforest in the early morning. As we continued, the faint sound of rushing water gradually grew louder, until Russell Falls finally appeared through the trees.
