Waterfall height

Somersby Falls is located about 70 km from Sydney by car. It sits in the western outskirts of Gosford in the Central Coast region. If you want a quick escape from the city without a long drive, Somersby Falls is a great option. It’s a small waterfall where you can bring a blanket and chairs and spend a quiet, relaxed time surrounded by nature. You can enjoy the sound of the water, spot wild birds, and walk through lush rainforest. Somersby Falls is about a 1-hour drive from Sydney CBD. Parking costs about $8 per day, and spaces are limited. Some people also park along the road outside the entrance to avoid the fee. Gate opening hours: 9:00–20:00 The waterfall is quite small and consists of three sections (top, middle, and bottom). The top section is near the parking area, and you walk down to the base. The full return walk takes around 1 hour at most. The first section is a stairway boardwalk and is relatively easy to walk. The middle section is the most photogenic area, although the waterfall itself is still just a small stream rather than a large fall. It is not really comparable to Fitzroy Falls. The second section becomes steeper and can be slippery in places. At the bottom, kids can play in the water and get close to the stream. There are picnic tables and a grassy area at the entrance, as well as public toilets. You can also cross the fence near the top section and walk onto the large rock platform, which is suitable for children. Nearby attractions worth combining in the same trip: * 5 minutes: Australian Reptile Park (wildlife park) * 11 minutes: Mount Penang Gardens * 16 minutes: Glenworth Valley horse riding (including lead pony rides, about 1 hour) * 25 minutes: Treetops Adventure and Amazement Farm * 30 minutes: Long Jetty and The Entrance * 30 minutes: The Skillion viewpoint
