Krimml Waterfall, Austria A surprisingly underrated waterfall that far exceeded expectations. It’s about a 1 hour 45 minute drive from Innsbruck. In June, the water volume is absolutely massive, and on any sunny day you’re almost guaranteed to see a rainbow.

Route and trail notes for Krimml Falls
From the parking area and ticket office, follow the well-marked waterfall trail (Wasserfallweg) uphill along the right side of the Krimmler Ache gorge. The paved path climbs through forest with multiple viewing platforms at each of the three cascades. The first viewpoint is reached in about 10 minutes; continue upward via switchbacks to middle and upper platforms for panoramic views. Return via the same route.
